I have these all over my property. The timer has to do with how long they stay on after motion activation, 1 minute or 3. Easy install, no power needed obviously. You must mount both the light and its solar panel.
They do work - until they don't! I've rarely had one last longer than a year, and this has been a universal issue with all solar lights. Either the motion detector or the rechargeable battery goes bad.
